Offline， meaning to take something or discuss something later. 私下再谈， 之后再找机会单独讨论的意思。 通常用在会议，或者其他的公开讨论的场合。 比如在会议当中， 有人问了一个跟当前讨论的话题 不相干的问题， 或者要长时间才能说明白的事情。 我们不可能浪费所有人的时间， 来讨论这个问题，就可以说， Can we take this offline? 我们能会后单独讨论吗？ 我们再看两个例句。 It's not the focus of this meeting. Let's take it offline and talk about it later. 这并不是会议的重点，我们私底下再接着谈。 这里很明显他们现在讨论的话题 is not part of the agenda of the current meeting。 This has been a great discussion, but let's take this offline and move on to the next item. 刚才的话题讨论很不错， 我们稍后私下继续， 现在先进行下一个议题。 这样说的场景很可能是会议的一个议题， 大家讨论来讨论去，就离题脱轨了， 所以会议主持人或者是老板就这样提醒大家。 If that bothers you, then I'm happy to take this offline. 如果你觉得不妥， 我愿意稍后单独讨论。 注意这个习惯用语， 不仅仅用在实体会议场合， physical meeting, a meeting where people are physically in the same meeting room。 也可以用在 virtual meeting room or chatroom。 比如上面的例句。 也可能是两个人在视频会议…
